We’re looking for a CBS Team Manager to join the Colleague Contact team within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You’ll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of ‘co-operating to build more value for member owners every day’.

In this role, you’ll jointly lead a team of CBS Advisors who provide great support to our colleagues across the UK. In our team we support a variety of service lines, and we’ll look to you to help find ways that we can do this even better. From leading, mentoring, and supporting the development of your team to spotting parts of our processes and ways of working that can be improved, you’ll play a big part in making sure we’re always giving our colleagues the best service possible.

Why this role matters

Great colleague support helps our whole Co-op perform at its best. That’s where you come in. You’ll lead a team that delivers expert, timely support to colleagues and leaders across the business.

What you’ll do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of CBS Advisors
  • Support the HR and Community Services, making sure our team provides a first-class service to colleagues and leaders across Co-op
  • Analyse data to understand performance, spot trends, and identify training needs and opportunities to improve
  • Collaborate with the resource planning team to allocate resources effectively
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships across the wider CBS team and Co-op
  • Nurture and drive a culture of continuous improvement and help your team navigate changes
  • Support the delivery of projects as necessary

What you’ll bring

We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:

  • Experience managing a team within a business services and/or telephony environment
  • The ability to manage a number of service lines and prioritise accordingly
  • A good understanding of HR, with experience providing HR advice on a variety of topics (e.g., maternity, hires, holidays, sick leave)
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and supporting the development of others
  • Good analytical skills, with the ability to use data to understand performance, spot trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:

  • Annual bonus scheme (based on individual and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
  • Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle-to-work scheme

A place you’ll belong

We’re building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve. We welcome applications from everyone, and our support centre is an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can thrive.
