Supporting people when it matters
At Co-op Funeralcare, we’re proud to support people during some of their most difficult moments.
Co-op Funeralcare
This can be emotional work. But it’s also incredibly rewarding. Our Funeralcare colleagues work together to offer care and support to people experiencing grief.
Whether you join us as a Funeral Arranger, Funeral Director or part of our Funeral Service Crew, you’ll need to be compassionate and dedicated to helping others. Your empathy and sensitivity will not only aid people in their time of need, but also help you to build a deeply fulfilling career.

Funeral Service Crew
Our Funeral Service Crew colleagues provide care for the deceased and support during funerals. You’ll work closely with your team to offer a seamless and sensitive service to those in need. Experience isn’t required to join our crews, just a full UK driver’s licence and a genuine sense of care for others.
Funeral Arranger
As a Funeral Arranger at Co-op, you’ll be the first point of contact for our clients. You’ll take the time to understand their needs and guide them through planning the funeral. Our clients will look to you for help, support, and advice during this difficult time, which means you’ll need to have empathy and a compassion for others. We’ll provide all the training and support you need to do the job with confidence and build a rewarding career in Funeralcare.

Funeral Director
Our Funeral Directors work closely with grieving families, offering support and guidance through the funeral arrangements. You’ll be responsible for helping people during one of the most difficult times in their lives, while building strong, trusting relationships.
If you’re interested in joining us as a Funeral Director, we’ll give you all the support and training you need to develop into the role. It’s emotionally demanding work, but knowing your comfort and care are available to those in need makes this a deeply fulfilling career. That kind of job satisfaction is hard to find elsewhere.
Our apprenticeships
As an apprentice in Co-op Funeralcare, you can choose between two career paths: Funeral Team Member (Level 2) or Funeral Director (Level 3). Both programmes involve offering care and support to people experiencing grief. Whichever you choose, you’ll need to be compassionate and dedicated to helping others. Your empathy and support will not only aid people in their time of need, but also help you to build a deeply fulfilling career.

Your development
As a Funeralcare colleague, you’ll have the opportunity to develop the skills you already have through one of our apprenticeship programmes. These blended learning programmes combine coaching, eLearning modules, development days, and practical learning to help you learn new skills and maximise your potential. Once you’ve completed the programme, you’ll earn a nationally recognised Apprenticeship standard.
If you want to level up, and you’re ready to work and learn at the same time, we’ll provide the tools and opportunities you need to own your career in Funeralcare at Co-op.
