In line with the Internal Mobility Policy, we’d like to make you aware that a preferred candidate has been identified for this opportunity.

We’re looking for a Funeralcare Finance Admin Advisor to join the Finance Administration team within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You’ll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of ‘co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day’.

Why this role matters

When someone chooses Co-op Funeralcare, they trust us at one of the most important moments in their lives, and our Finance Administration team plays a vital role in making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly. It’ll be up to you to support the checking, compiling and preparation of refunds for At Need clients, while helping our Funeral Homes provide a compassionate, reliable service for the families we care for.

What you’ll do

  • Work as part of a team of administrators, acting as a key point of contact for our funeral homes
  • Resolve complex queries and provide clear, supportive guidance
  • Use your IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, to work with data confidently (experience with formulas, VLOOKUPs or pivot tables is a bonus)
  • Manage your workload effectively, staying organised and focused in a fast paced environment
  • Prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and service level agreements
  • Apply strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy across all finance processes

What you’ll bring

We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:

  • Experience working in a transactional finance environment
  • Confidence working with large volumes of data and transactions
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Great organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative
  • A calm, methodical approach and a real pride in getting things right

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:

  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 days with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
  • Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle-to-work scheme

A place you’ll belong

We’re building diverse and inclusive teams that reflect the communities we serve.

We welcome applications from everyone and are committed to creating a workplace where colleagues can feel like they belong, supported by our inclusive policies and the ways we work.

We’re proud to be part of the Disability Confident scheme and offer interviews to disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria for a job. If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, we’ll support you.
