PurposeIn this role you will follow the principles of better for customers, simpler for colleagues and better value for Coop.  The role will support the delivery & implementation of the Operational loss & costs plan within the funeral care divisions. Analysing and taking action to improve the performance within administrative duties, financial control and debt management reports within the operation. Provide subject matter expertise, specialist support and coaching across all elements of administration, loss & cost management to the Funeral Service Managers & funeral homes within the plan.

Contribution

Description of how role-holder contributes to our Co-op, and co-operates with their colleagues within their team or community of practice to deliver our Co-op vision

  • Analyse, monitor and take corrective action where issues are identified in financial administration and debt control reporting
  • Work directly with funeral homes ensuring corrective action, escalating non compliance to the performance improvement manager and Funeral Service Managers where needed 
  • Support the Funeral Service Managers in complex operational fraud investigation incidents, providing information and analysis to aid investigations 
  • Provide training to Funeral Service Managers on an adhoc basis on processes, products and services within funeral arranging where the need is identified 
  • Support the embedding of new & existing processes to drive adherence and consistency within the operation
  • Where corrective action is identified feedback to central support teams to ensure the corrections are administered
  • Champion cost control behaviours within the operation by identifying and making recommendations on cost savings 
  • Work with bank rec and operations to resolve cash, card, chq queries & unallocated bacs.
