Full time 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday
Manchester city centre – hybrid working
We’re looking for a Team Manager to join our Payroll team in Manchester.
In this role, you’ll manage a busy team of around 9 colleagues, whose job it is to make sure every colleague is paid the right amount at the right time. The team use Oracle Fusion to process the salaries for approximately 70,000 Co-op employees and pensioners on a 4-week cycle, so they have a big job on their hands.
What you’ll do
• Take responsibility for all line management duties for a team of Payroll colleagues, including onboarding, performance management and individual development
• Act as the escalation point for members of your team with complex queries
• Maintain payroll processes and standards, working closely with your team to make sure pay accuracy is above 99%
• Manage payroll compliance under audit, data privacy and data protection guidelines and regulations and check/sign-off of year-end reporting
• Make sure that the business complies with payroll legislation and that reporting and payments are completed.
This role would suit people who have
• Good general IT skills with the ability to use programmes in the Microsoft Office Suite
• The ability to mentor and support a team to achieve great results in a busy environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• CIPP or equivalent Payroll qualification
