In line with the Internal Mobility Policy, we’d like to make you aware that there is a preferred candidate who has been identified for this opportunity.

We’re looking for a Regulatory Compliance Support Specialist to join the Control Environment team within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You’ll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of ‘co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day’.

In this role, you’ll help shape how we work by supporting a solid control environment across CBS and our end-to-end service outcomes. You’ll be part of the CBS Risk, Control, and Assurance team, working closely with CBS teams to make sure we’re focused on the right things and delivering what the business needs. You’ll support colleagues to embed a culture of control that’s clear, consistent, and flexible enough to work across all the different services we offer.

Why this job matters

We’re realising the value of having a strong control environment in CBS. It’s not just about compliance, it’s about creating clarity, consistency, and confidence in how we work. This role will help us harness that value and roll it out across the organisation, driving cultural change and empowering teams to own their part of Co-op.

What you’ll do

  • Support embedding the control environment across CBS, grounded in industry best-practice and tailored to our services
  • Support a network of risk champions to inspire change and build capability
  • Monitor the performance of the control environment, call out issues, and ensure accountability across CBS teams
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve and grow the control environment
  • Bring subject matter expertise and a continuous improvement approach to help shape future services

What you’ll bring

  • A strong understanding of control frameworks, relevant standards, and legislation
  • Experience leading and motivating teams to deliver change
  • Experience using innovative technology to solve business problems
  • The confidence to work within a matrix environment with a variety of partners

  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands

  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
