About this role

We’re looking for an Analytics & Machine Learning Manager to join our wider Digital technology & data team in Manchester. You’ll help us to improve the way we use our data by managing advanced analytics projects from start to finish, and offering actionable recommendations backed by strong sight. And, for this role specifically, you’ll focus on measurement using ‘test and control’ statistics methods.

By leading advanced analytics projects and building predictive models, you’ll help shape the future of our Life Services businesses and make sure we’re making informed, impactful decisions.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with our Insurance, Funeralcare, and Legal Services teams to deliver a joined-up analytics and insight roadmap
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex analytics projects and predictive models
  • Collaborate with data teams to develop and share advanced analytics techniques using diverse data sources
  • Build strong relationships across the business to spot opportunities where analytics can drive performance and influence customer behaviou
  • Share actionable, data-driven recommendations with partners across Co-op
  • Manage and support your team’s development
  • Own and evolve the Life Services ‘test and learn’ programme

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, end-to-end data projects
  • Strong background in machine learning and statistical testing
  • Experience with SQL, SAS, Python (or equivalent)
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • The ability to implement analytical solutions like segmentation, clustering, regression modelling, and measurement
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to clearly present often complex information
  • Good relationship-building skills, across all levels of seniority
