Planning and Delivery Analyst - Payroll
£36,500 to £42,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 6A)
Manchester city centre, in this role you’ll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between home and coming into the office around twice a week depending on business requirements

We’re looking for a Planning and Delivery Analyst to join the Payroll team within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You’ll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of ‘co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day’.

We’re making some big changes to how we support our colleagues. Over the next two years, we’ll be supporting a review of our PACE DC Pension Scheme and will be looking to optimise our payroll processes to make things simpler and more reliable. This role is all about helping us deliver those changes smoothly, while supporting smaller improvements along the way. If you’re organised, great at building relationships, and passionate about making things better, this could be the role for you.

Why this role matters

Getting pay and pensions right is one of the most important things we do for our colleagues. This role makes sure we deliver those changes in a way that’s clear, well-planned, and works for everyone. You’ll help us transfer knowledge, keep projects on track, and make sure the team feels confident and ready for what’s coming.

What you’ll do

• Work closely with our Group Pensions and Payroll teams to deliver change projects to our 2026 - 2027 roadmap.
• Build and maintain clear plans for change, making sure milestones are met.
• Coordinate impact testing and support smaller payroll improvements.
• Transfer knowledge from Pensions to Payroll and document processes.
• Deliver training so the team feels confident and ready.
• Keep communication open and honest with internal and external partners.

What you’ll bring

• Experience in payroll and/or pensions (CIPP qualification or similar is a plus).
• Problem solving and analytical thinking
• Continuous improvement
• Customer focus and service delivery
• Communication and collaboration
• Initiative and balancing priorities
• Attention to detail

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:

• An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
• 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
• A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
• Private healthcare
• Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
• Coaching and training to support your career development
• Wagestream app – giving you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn
