We’re looking for a Direct and Indirect Tax analyst to join us in Manchester to help make sure we continue to meet our tax reporting requirements. Working closely alongside our Senior Direct Tax Manager and your colleagues in our Direct Tax team, you’ll play a big role in helping us to carry out our corporate tax processes and fulfil our compliance obligations.
What you’ll do
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT and PPT returns, extracting data as required and supporting colleagues to ensure that returns are accurate
• Perform regular checking as required, including new product VAT liabilities for Co-op and Co-op Wholesale
• Perform regular reconciliations of the VAT account
• Ensure work is undertaken to agreed levels of standards that meet financial/commercial and risk requirements of the direct and indirect tax team
• Assist and support in any requests across all taxes and within TT&I
What you’ll bring

• Experience of indirect taxes, including legal framework and corporation tax within industry or practice
• Recently qualified or are currently working towards their CTA or ACCA qualification
• Knowledge of accounting systems and control environments relevant to tax/finance
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUPS and pivot tables)
• The desire and motivation to learn, develop, and look for continuous improvement opportunities
