Co-op Wholesale is growing, and we’re looking for talented people who want to shape what comes next. As a National Account Manager, you’ll lead one of our biggest strategic accounts: the UK’s largest export business with a complex network of global partners and big potential for future growth. This is a key commercial role where you’ll own the relationship end-to-end, collaborating closely with our trading and propositions teams to deliver shared success for us and our partners.

Why this role matters

Exciting things are happening at Co-op Wholesale. We’re growing fast, strengthening our offer for retailers, key accounts, and corporate partners, and we need great people to be part of that journey.

To make this offer the best it can be, we need to deliver a best-in-class service that drives sales, improves availability, and enhances our partnership performance. That’s where you come in.

What you’ll do

  • Build a strong relationship with one of our most strategic partners and be their main point of contact
  • Collaborate with our trading, propositions, delivery, finance, and supply chain teams to make sure our range, pricing, and offerings land successfully across all partner sites
  • Line manage our Export Data Co-ordinator, supporting them in their career development
  • Analyse weekly and long-term performance data, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
  • Help fix availability or supply issues by connecting the right people across wholesale and our partner account
  • Shape proposals, plans, and agreements that support mutual long-term growth
  • Make sure the account activity is well organised, well communicated, and focussed on the right priorities

What you’ll bring

We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:

  • Significant experience managing large national accounts within FMCG, wholesale, or retail
  • Proven experience driving sales growth and improving account performance
  • A background in sales, national account management, export, commercial buying, or category/commercial strategy
  • The ability to analyse and interpret complex performance data
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence decisions using commercial insight
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence senior partners
  • Good problem-solving and collaboration skills

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:

  • A company car
  • Private healthcare
  • 28 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
  • Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
