Senior Property Conveyancer  
£38,000 to £45,000 with excellent benefits (Work Level 6A) 
Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours  
Bristol / Stratford-upon-Avon – you’ll work from one of our offices 3 days a week, with 2 days working from home (find out more about our hybrid working policy at jobs.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).  

We’re looking for a Senior Conveyancer to join our Co-op Legal Services probate conveyancing team.

In this role you’ll help to coach, mentor, and develop your team to deliver quality property service, strong case progression and great client service. Whilst also providing legal and administrative support to our customers who require a transfer of property or land following a bereavement. We’ll look to you to manage the change of ownership from beginning to end and keeping in continuous contact with the client. You’ll make a real difference to our clients lives during their hour of need.

What you’ll do

  • Take ownership of your own caseload of more complex files and deliver on targets that drive the best outcomes for our customers
  • Work closely with clients (via phone or in writing), taking an empathetic approach  
  • Use a case management system to manage your work, making sure it’s always accurate and up to date
  • Engage with third parties, other legal professionals and HM Land Registry as well as support the probate case managers with conveyancing assistance  
  • Support the Property Team Leader in distributing work amongst the team and streamlining processes and creating new processes
  • Provide Probate Property Conveyancers and Probate Team Leaders with technical assistance in relation to Land Law, Trusts and Equity, Land Registration and process queries around the conveyancing process in general as required
  • Work with Probate Team leaders to ensure the business needs are being met in the most efficient way possible
  • Keep and share MI for the Probate Team and business partners with the Probate Team managers

What you’ll bring

We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:

  • A qualified Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer (CLC), or significant conveyancing experience, with strong knowledge of Land Law, Land Registration, Trusts and Equity, and the conveyancing process, including handling Assents for both registered and unregistered titles and equitable interests  
  • The ability to investigate, question or research to uncover the causes of issues, using your knowledge appropriately to find solutions and make decisions about the best course of action
  • The ability to support, mentor and develop colleagues to improve their performance
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with great attention to detail and the ability to balance a caseload with additional technical responsibilities while prioritising effectively in a busy environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to put the customer’s interests at the heart of what you do
