Operations Product Manager
Greater ManchesterOperations Product Manager
£51,595 to £66,770 plus great benefits aligned to your home role (Work Level 5)
Manchester city centre (in this role you’ll work in a hybrid way, splitting your time between home, coming into the office twice per week, and making occasional visits to our stores)
We’re looking for an Operations Product Manager to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract at Co-op and play a big part in transforming our in-store experience. You’ll lead one of our most significant operational innovation programmes, driving the rollout and ongoing evolution of hybrid tills across our store network.
This is a really exciting opportunity to own our hybrid tills product and its delivery roadmap. You’ll lead a nationwide rollout programme, working closely with colleagues across our stores, operations, technology, and format teams. We’ll look to you to use customer and colleague feedback, alongside operational data and insights, to continuously improve the proposition and shape how hybrid tills support different store formats in future.
Beyond rollout, you’ll be responsible for the ongoing development of our hybrid till and SmartPOS solutions. You’ll look for opportunities to enhance functionality, improve user experience, and maximise business benefits.
What you’ll do
- Lead the hybrid tills team to successfully design, deliver, and implement hybrid tills across our store network
- Be responsible for the end-to-end product strategy, design, and delivery of the hybrid till proposition and SmartPOS software
- Define and own the product roadmap, making sure solutions meet the needs of customer, colleagues, and the wider business
- Use operational data, performance metrics, and user feedback to measure impact and identify areas to improve
- Manage programme budgets effectively
- Collaborate with technology, format, and store operations colleagues
- Build strong relationships across the business and communicate the product vision effectively to audiences ranging from store colleagues to senior leaders
- Develop compelling business cases and secure support for future investment opportunities
What you’ll bring
We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:
- Strong leadership skills, with experience leading and developing teams through direct and matrix management
- A deep understanding of retail store operations and the operational challenges faced by colleagues and customers
- Experience owning and delivering products, programmes, or large-scale operational changes
- Good communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into simple, engaging messages
- Good relationship-building and partner management skills
- A data-driven approach, with the ability to use insight and performance measure to support decision-making
- Experience of, or a strong understanding of, product management and project delivery methodologies
- A passion for innovation and improving the customer and colleague experience using technology
