Solicitor (In-house Co-op Group) 
From £48,560 plus excellent benefits including annual bonus scheme, pension with up to 10% Co-op contribution, and private healthcare (Work level 5)

We’re looking for two solicitors to join our Co-op in-house legal team.

In this role, you’ll support colleagues across all Co-op business areas (Food, Funeralcare, Insurance, Legal Services), getting involved in a diverse range of legal work across the legal disciplines of property, disputes, commercial, regulatory and employment work. We’ll look to you to build positive relationships, finding practical solutions to support our business’s needs, and deliver an excellent service. What you’ll do

•    Become a trusted business partner by building strong relationships with colleagues across different business areas  
•    Apply your commercial judgment, influencing skills and legal knowledge across a broad range of business situations 
•    Take on legal projects, transactions, and disputes to manage the delivery of work with the wider legal team 
•    Work collaboratively with other members of the team to support all areas of Co-op's business and continuously improve our services  
•    Support junior members of the team to help them develop their legal skills
•    Share knowledge with all team members to help build everyone’s skills  

What you’ll bring

•    Experience as a qualified solicitor from private practice or in-house 
•    Strong analytical, problem solving and influencing skills 
•    Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise your work effectively 
•    Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a passion for learning new practice areas  
•    The ability to build positive relationships quickly and operate as part of a team
