Full-time, however part-time can be considered

We're looking for a Funding Officer to join the Co-op Foundation, Co-op's charity. Through our funding and partnerships team, we support organisations that are helping create stronger, fairer and more sustainable communities across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team delivering programmes that support young people, social enterprises and community-led change. Working with inspiring partner organisations and a collective of young people who help shape our work, you'll play a key role in helping us create opportunities for communities to thrive. If you're motivated by making a positive difference and share our co-operative values, we'd love to hear from you.

Why this job matters

Communities understand their challenges better than anyone. That's why the Co-op Foundation works alongside organisations, young people and community groups to help turn ideas into action and create lasting change.

As a Funding Officer, you'll help bring that ambition to life. You'll build strong relationships with funded partner organisations and young people and will support the design and delivery of funding programmes to help our funding reach organisations creating real impact. Through your work, you'll help empower communities and champion young people's voices.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver Foundation funding programmes and build trust-based relationships with funded partner organisations
  • Contribute to the implementation of Foundation policies and procedures to support continuous improvement
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and events, presenting information and updates on your work areas and taking a lead on effective team planning
  • Work with colleagues across the team to ensure that partner organisations receive payments on time
  • Contribute to communications activity in support of the Foundation’s objectives (including social media, report-writing, organising and attending events)
  • Work alongside our Future Communities Collective of young people, who are involved with a range of activities delivered by our team

What you’ll bring

  • An awareness of the funding or charity sector, or a keen interest in building a career in this area
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with key partners both internally and externally
  • Strong project management or organisational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritise your workload effectively

•    An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
•    28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
•    A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
•    Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
