£38,000 to £41,800 (pro rata) plus great benefits aligned to your home role (Work Level 6A)
Southern England | Field-based (this role involves regular travel across the South of England to visit our food stores, as well as travel to our Manchester office when needed)
6-month secondment

We’re looking for a Delivery Manager to join our Retail Operations team on a 6-month secondment. At Co-op, we’re focussed on making convenience retailing even better for our customers, member-owners, and colleagues. And you’ll help us make that ambition a reality.

Working closely with teams across Retail Operations, Property, and our Food business, you’ll help turn plans into action. You’ll spend time in stores, listening to colleagues, gathering feedback, and making sure changes are implemented successfully, sustainably, and with colleagues front of mind.

This is a role for someone who enjoys building relationships, influencing people, and making change happen in the right way. You’ll see first-hand how your work impacts stores, colleagues, and customers across the nation.

Why this role matters

Every improvement we make in our stores helps create a better experience for our customers and colleagues. In this role, you’ll help make sure that a new initiative is delivered successfully and brings lasting value to Co-op. By connecting store feedback with project teams and decision-makers, you’ll play an important role in shaping how we operate.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with our Property and Retail teams to develop and deliver implementation plans
  • Partner with Store Managers, Buddy Managers and Operations Managers to support changes across our store network
  • Help deliver engagement and change plans, making sure our colleagues feel informed, supported, and involved at all times
  • Gather feedback from stores and share insights with project teams and working groups
  • Support colleagues to adopt, embed, and sustain new ways of working
  • Use data and insight to spot opportunities, monitor progress, and inform decision-making

What you’ll bring

We’re committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you’ll need to bring:

  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to work across teams
  • Confidence influencing, coaching, and constructively challenging others
  • Good communication skills and the ability to adopt your approach for different people
  • Strong planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills
  • Experience delivering operational or behavioural change and supporting successful adoption
  • A good understanding of retail store operations and the realities of store environments
  • Strong IT skills, with the ability to work with data, reporting and/or analytics

Why Co-op?

At Co-op, we’re owned by our members. And because we’re owned by you, we can do right by you. So when you join us, you’re not just taking a job, you’re joining a movement. We’re an organisation that puts people and communities first, and we’re powered by purpose. We want this to be a place where you can thrive, so you’ll also receive:

  • An annual bonus scheme (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (pro rata) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • 30% discount on Co-op products and 10% off other brands
  • Stream – early access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • Virtual healthcare including GP appointments, mental health support, nutrition and fitness advice
  • 24/7 colleague support service
  • Training and support for your development and career progression
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
