Commercial Manager
Greater ManchesterThe commercial managers are to track, approve and guide the approved capex spent by the construction teams, supporting them in excellent delivery of all capex projects.
Be the main point of contact for cost tracking and dashboards, external QS management, maximising on opportunities to drive down costs through trend analysis and interpretation of the data.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Senior Construction and Construction Managers ensuring they have the data they need to ensure we are delivering the highest level of service to property and are maximising on opportunities to continuously improve our service and drive down costs.
To support the Construction Management team in all aspects of cost tracking and dashboard reporting, supporting and approving projects through the cost gateways from CV 1 to PFG, ensuring accuracy checks and strong challenge are in place.
Assisting in the preparation of papers for Senior Management.
Be the main point of contact for all cost queries ensuring overall tracking is managed and reported in a robust and transparent way.
Utilising your knowledge and skills to ensure we are regularly challenging and improving the way we measure and track costs and that we are driving the right outcomes and behaviours in the wider team.
Support in the regular review of service level agreements and performance metrics utilising your knowledge and providing insight through your management of QS KPI data.
Support the Senior Contracts & Commercial Managers to make sure that all projects follow the relevant gateways and ensure misses are tracked and managed through robust challenge.
Support in any cross functional projects, making sure requirements are delivered to plan.
Ensure persistent service delivery failures are escalated in a prompt and consistent way and you support in delivering the resolution alongside the wider team.
- Main contact for team communications ensuring key messages are delivered in a consistent way.
- Working towards or has the capability to achieve an industry recognised commercial management qualification.
- Can work confidently in a fast-paced environment across multiple work streams.
- Able to engage with others and influence across work levels and functions.
- Able to adapt communication to satisfy stakeholder requirements.
- Experience in balancing & managing multiple internal stakeholders and ability to prioritise workload and conflicting demands.
- Able to recommend process and system changes were identified.
- Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgement and assertiveness.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and draw key insight from data.
- Good commercial acumen with a track record of demonstrating commercial benefits.
- Able to communicate, engage and energise at different level across the business, excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent presentations skills.
- Strong IT aptitude shown through use of Microsoft365 or other standard product.
