Role Summary
This role is accountable for supporting the development, implementation and assuring the strategies for Data Quality, Regulation and Process Compliance in Commercial. This includes data quality related disciplines such as supporting the ownership of the data quality improvement plan, contributing to and supporting the oversight of the strategic direction for regulatory & process compliance, and proCompliance , contributing to and overseeing the strategic direction for data quality and compliance and supporting the provision of clearly defined data quality and compliance metrics with ownership and responsibility , contributing to and overseeing the strategic direction for regulatory & process compliance, and providing clearly defined reporting tools with ownership and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Managing Data Quality & Compliance
- Supporting the delivery of relevant Risk frameworks and the development of design and embedding of a Risk Strategy and plan for Commercial.
- Supporting the build a colleague engagement strategy and plan, working collaboratively to develop and adapt accordingly so that it enables colleague feedback to be incorporated during the launch, embedding and sustaining the risk and compliance framework.
- Supporting appropriate tracking and measurement plans are in place and are monitored
- Supporting Commercial colleagues through the risk framework to ensure all elements of the risk register and controls are tested, robust and delivered and that there is a focus on ongoing learning and improvement
Managing Stakeholders
- Supporting the identification of key stakeholder groups that need to be engaged and develop, execute and maintain a stakeholder engagement strategy, building effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Provide support to the Risk & Audit Manager in supporting and coaching to all levels of leaders and managers as they help their teams through the understanding of the risk framework and a culture of risk management in Commercial
Executing Risk & Audit Change
- Depending on the scale and complexity of the audit finding and action, change or risks, execute key components of the strategy in Partnership with the Commercial Change & Delivery Team & Commercial Change & Improvement Process Team
- Engage with communications and training and development experts ensuring insight is shared and informs communications and training plans or lead these activities when appropriate. Develop and deliver these activities as required.
- Ensure all change related governance activity is completed and assure the quality of submissions to all governance forums.
Developing Risk Management
- Be an advocate for risk management and support in developing the understanding across the wider Commercial team, reinforcing the importance of managing risk
- Role model the Being Co-op ways of working (Do What Matters Most, Show You Care, Be Yourself Always, Succeed Together) at all times, and work to embed these both within the team and across the wider business.
Freedom to make decisions
- Support the development of strategies across Risk in partnership with Stakeholders in other business areas
- Freedom to lead within the Coop Risk Management Framework including proposing deviation where appropriate for Commercial with the Risk and Audit Manager

Planning Horizon
- Contributes to the development of the functional strategy for own area of the organisation (sub-function or area), generally for up to 12-18 months ahead, developing detailed plans that will deliver strong business performance.
- Supports the development of 12-18 month plan for Commercial Risk and a management response to and detailed plan to respond to audit actions in Commercial.
Plan and organise own workload,, in order to ensure delivery against the commercial risk register and compliance framework planning months to years ahead
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Experience in risk management, developing risk controls is desirable
- Ability to communicate, influence and present at a senior level
- Strong communication and influencing skills and the ability to establish, manage and maintain strong complex stakeholder relationships
