Role Summary:

To create a joined-up approach to planning, prioritisation and performance across the People Function to improve visibility, coordination and decision making so that the Chief People Officer, People Leadership Team and wider function remain focused on the priorities that deliver the greatest value for colleagues, leaders and the business. The role brings together planning, governance, performance insight and delivery information to help the People Function operate as one connected system. It creates the conditions for teams to work together more effectively by improving coordination, creating clarity, identifying risks and dependencies, building connections across the People Function and wider business, and helping leaders tell a clear story about what the function is delivering and why it matters. The role also provides leadership, coaching and direction to the People Planning & Performance Co-ordinators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate planning activity across the People Function, ensuring priorities remain aligned to strategic objectives.

  • Establish and embed a consistent planning, governance and performance approach across the People Function, creating capability where it does not currently exist.

  • Bring together plans, priorities, dependencies, risks and performance information into one clear view, improving visibility of work across teams, reducing duplication and strengthening collaboration.

  • Prepare dashboards, reports and insight that enable informed leadership decisions.

  • Support the Chief People Officer and People Leadership Team in decision making with planning, governance and performance discussions.

  • Clarify ownership, decision points and governance across the People Function.

  • Identify emerging risks, delivery issues and opportunities early, ensuring they are visible, understood and escalated to the appropriate owners.

  • Build strong relationships across the People Function, CBS, Internal Comms and Business Functions to ensure joined-up planning, aligned messaging and coordinated delivery.

  • Work with Communications Partners to shape and communicate a clear narrative that explains priorities, progress, outcomes and business impact, helping colleagues and leaders understand what the People Function is delivering, why it matters and the outcomes it’s achieving for our Co-op.

  • Continuously improve planning, governance and performance processes to increase the effectiveness of the People Function.

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and development for the People Planning & Performance Coordinators.
