Role Summary:
The Strategic People Business Partner partners with senior leaders to diagnose organisational challenges, shape evidence-based people strategies and influence critical business decisions. Deployed across business areas, enterprise-wide priorities or focused on the effectiveness of our people partnering model, the role uses organisational and workforce insight, leadership development and targeted people interventions to drive organisational effectiveness, builds sustainable capability and delivers measurable business and colleague outcomes. 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Partner with senior leaders and key stakeholders across assigned business areas, enterprise-wide change or within our people model to shape the approach to people plan interventions and challenges meeting organisational goals and ambitions. 

  • Lead organisational effectiveness activity through assessing organisational design, leadership capability, workforce risks and cultural factors to improve business performance. 

  • Influence and challenge senior stakeholders through building trusted and effective working relationships. 

  • Use root cause analysis to identify business problems, scope work and create clear interventions and outcomes. 

  • Create and own the Strategic People Plan for assigned business areas, enterprise-wide change of activity within the people effectiveness portfolio, informed by business priorities as well as the overall People Strategy 

  • Lead on workforce planning with senior stakeholders to ensure robust succession and talent planning. 

  • Use people data, workforce insight and business insight to diagnose issues, identify opportunities and inform strategic decision making. 

  • Coach and develop senior leaders through assessing their capability, and that of their teams and build appropriate interventions. 

  • Manage and respond to high-risk people issues, drawing on and assigning appropriate resource. 

  • Act as the primary orchestrator across the People function, contracting expertise and resources from Centres of Excellence, Services and People Delivery Managers to deliver agreed outcomes.  

  • Ensure people interventions deliver measurable business outcomes through monitoring impact, evaluating effectiveness and adapting approaches where required.  

  • Work with People Delivery Managers to translate strategic priorities into clear delivery outcomes and ensure interventions are successfully embedded.  

  • Contribute to enterprise-wide people priorities by sharing insight, shaping best practice and supporting cross Co-op interventions where these create greater organisational value.  

  • Where assigned, lead the ongoing effectiveness and continuous improvement of People Partnering, consistent standards and ways of working, professional capability, communities of practice and effective interfaces across the People function. 

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders to diagnose complex organisational, workforce and people challenges, using insight and evidence to shape strategy, influence decisions and deliver measurable business and colleague outcomes.  

  • Experience leading strategic people initiatives such as organisational design, workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development or large-scale change, bringing together specialist expertise and resources to achieve sustainable organisational impact
